New York, NY, February 19, 2012: The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) will honor Steven Tyler & Joe Perry of Aerosmith with the prestigious ASCAP Founders Award during its 30th annual Pop Music Awards, it was announced today by ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams. The invitation-only gala will take place on April 17th, 2013 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The event will also celebrate the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most performed pop songs of 2012.
BBC.com     Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry have officially taken their place in the Songwriters' Hall of Fame.   Sir Elton John and lyricist Bernie Taupin were among the stars at the 44th annual Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony in New York on Thursday.   The Class of 2013 was made up of Tyler and Perry, Mick Jones and Lou Gramm of Foreigner, Holly Knight, JD Souther and Neighbours composer Tony Hatch.

Mark Campbell Productions, Austin, Texas, announces Joe Perry (Aerosmith) has been cast in the motion picture Cottonwood. Joe is slated to play the role of Joe Walker in this murder-mystery set in West Texas during the depression and dustbowl era. Cottonwood tells the story of a county sheriff, Rube Whitlock, who becomes embroiled in the murder of a local racist. Additional cast members attached are:  Anthony Michael Hall (also producing), Academy Award-winning actor Louis Gossett, Jr., Alison Eastwood, and Ethan Suplee.
